The Split Tip feature allows you to distribute a single tip between multiple employees, making it easy to accurately reward everyone who contributed to a service. Whether a pet was cared for by multiple groomers, bathers, daycare attendants, or other staff members, tips can be divided by percentage or dollar amount and tracked directly within Kennel Connection. Tip approvals, reporting tools, and management screens also help simplify payroll and tip reconciliation.
Important Note: Access Rights Are Required
Employees must be granted the appropriate Access Rights before they can edit tip assignments or approve tips.
-Click on Setup, Employees.
-Select the employee you want to give rights to.
-Click on Access Rights.
There are two access rights for this feature.
Edit Tips allows employees to edit the employees assigned to the tip and the amount assigned to each employee.
Approve Tips allows employees to mark Tips as Approved. This feature allows an employee or manager to go through the tips for the day and verify the correct employees are assigned and mark them as Approved
Use Tip Approvals for Payroll Review
While approval is not required to use Split Tips, it can help managers verify tip distributions before payroll is processed and makes reporting easier.
On the receipt screen, there will now be a field for you to split the tip between employees.
If you want to split the tip, you will use this section below.

Quick Tip: Tip Allocations Must Equal 100%
Kennel Connection will notify you if the assigned percentages or amounts do not equal the full tip amount, helping prevent over or under-allocation.
